Position: Class A HazMat Driver
Business Unit: Marlin Gas Services

Responsible for exhibiting Chesapeake Utilities Corporation’s Mission, Vision and Values, regarding external customers, agencies, vendors, internal departments and co-workers. Operate a heavy duty bulk delivery tanker truck in a safe and reliable manner consistent with all applicable codes and regulations. Work efficiently and cost effectively to deliver tanker of compressed and/or liquefied natural gas.  Customers include utilities, pipelines, and institutions, large industrial and commercial facilities. Training will be provided in the safe set-up and initiation of service at the customers’ location.

 Primary duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Operate a heavy duty truck with an ability to hitch and pull associated equipment safely and reliably.
  • Deliver a customers’ compressed and/or liquefied natural gas, and equipment associated with providing the natural gas service in a timely manner to the customer’ location.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of vehicle and equipment.
  • Document findings of inspections and ensure appropriate action is taken with regard to any exceptions.
  • Prepare and maintain all appropriate documentation, certifications and endorsements required of hazardous material drivers by the Department of Transportation.
  • Observe all traffic rules and practice defensive driving techniques.
  • Observe all company, industry, and regulatory guidelines regarding the safe operation of equipment in the delivery of compressed and liquefied natural gas.
  • Perform timely and accurate recordkeeping of deliveries in terms of time and quantity.
  • Prepare driver trip reports on a daily basis and submit to the Operations Manager.
  • Inform the Management of any vehicle or equipment which requires attention or repair.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to management immediately.
  • Ability to perform set-up and inspections of the equipment at the customers’ location.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of scheduling of work.
  • Adherence to uniform and clothing requirements.
  • Active participation in training seminars.

  • Must have a Commercial Drivers License, Class A, with Hazardous Material and Tank endorsements (CDL/HM/CLASS A/ XT)
  • 5+ years of previous CDL Class A, HAZMAT advanced driving experience.
  • High school graduate level or equivalent education.
  • Successful completion of company training programs.
  • Prefer a driver with bulk tank driving and equipment experience.
  • Prefer a driver with a general understanding of the natural gas industry and all applicable codes and regulations, knowledge of the properties of compressed natural gas and all aspects of the loading and unloading of natural gas.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of and ability to operate a heavy duty tractor cab, pick-up trucks, cellular phones, and various hand and power tools.
  • Prefer a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must possess Microsoft Office Suite proficiency including Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be capable of passing a standard Department of Transportation physical examination and drug tests pursuant to legal requirements.
  • Ability to communicate both in speaking and in writing is required.
  • Normal hearing and vision ability is required

 Working Conditions:

  • Extensive travel requiring long hours during projects.
  • This position requires exposure to materials that could be hazardous if not properly handled.
  • Work is primarily outside in all types of weather.

Position: Facility & Equipment Technician

Location: Spring Hill, Florida

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions on a variety of equipment and gas distribution
  • Perform skilled repair, inspection and maintenance on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered equipment such as trucks, excavators, trenchers, light carts, meter equipment, tanks, and other equipment
  • Rebuild parts such as air and hydraulic brakes, pumps, regulators
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic
  • Weld and fabricate equipment parts
  • Perform and schedule preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Support other technicians and team members by helping other personnel with their job duties and training on use of tools
  • Schedule and perform both routine and annual maintenance I repairs to the operations facilities
  • Maintain records and prepare basic written reports
  • Read and comprehend service manuals
  • Ensure proper use, care and storage of tools, materials and equipment
  • Assist other technicians with the installation of company facilities and equipment
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of vehicles and construction equipment assigned to the other operations districts as needed

Requirements:
